December 25, 2015 -- Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

A very blessed and Merry Christmas to each and every one of you, from all the Peacock flock!  We pray that each of you had a blessed celebration today with family and friends, remembering the greatest gift that we have ever received. . . the birth of our Saviour!  At our Christmas Eve service, Trevor reminded us in his message of the wonderful attributes of Jesus that we celebrate and treasure from Isaiah 9:6-7 . . .

1.  The Promised Messiah -- Jesus is the One that Israel had been waiting for, and He is the One who WILL return!

2.  Mighty God -- Jesus was both fully man and fully God, and He will reign over Israel and the world!

3.  Everlasting Father -- Jesus reigns like a Father . . . caring for, loving, and disciplining His children!

4.  Wonderful Counselor -- Jesus' counsel is always true, always right, and always the best!

5.  Prince of Peace -- Jesus is the only way to peace with God, peace with one another, and peace within yourself!

Our family was so encouraged to be reminded of how much Jesus has demonstrated those above attributes each day, especially over the last 4 years!  We celebrate Christmas with such joy and anticipation of our returning Lord and Saviour!

Here are a few fun pictures to share with you. . .

Hope got new elastic colours on her braces this month. . . yep, you guessed it. . . RED and GREEN!!!  So with that, Merry Christmas from Hope!!!

Hope standing by her stocking!  Couldn't believe how amazing she looks in this picture!  Trick photography. . . nope, see below. . .

Here's the trick. . . daddy's arms are needed for balance, but Hope is doing all the weight bearing!!!  Way to go Hope!!!  Love love LOVE these two sweet girlies!!!  : )

And a video . . . The progress and changes as Hope continues in her recovery from a severe anoxic brain injury, now 4 years ago, is gradual at this point.  Seeing the changes day to day is harder, but year to year is incredible!  Love this video below showcasing how much Hope's fine motor skills have improved as she opens a Christmas gift.  Not only that, but also how in spite of her vision impairment, she is so much more aware of things, such as when ALL the Christmas wrap had been removed from the gift!  Praising God for His obvious grace through continued improvement and healing in Hope's life!!!

Finally, we would humbly ask that you would continue to pray for Hope and the resurgence of seizures.  I wrote a post in October explaining this.  Since then, Hope has had one seizure in November, and now three over the past 6 days.  Each of these recent 3 seizures have been very different in nature from each other.  She has felt very unwell in the hours preceding the seizures, as well.  The good aspect of her feeling unwell, is that we know a seizure is likely coming.  The unique aspect of her feeling unwell though, is that usually she can prevent a seizure by having rest and down time, and this has not been the case. . . the seizure comes with or without rest/quiet time.  Also usually a seizure will kinda be a "reset" button for her . . . starts with feeling unwell, building into a seizure, and then she feels better.  However recently, her unwell symptoms have often continued following a seizure.

Hope had a seizure on the 19th, the 23rd and the 24th this week. . . the seizure on the 24th was in the van before we even left the parking lot after the Christmas Eve service. . . versus the seizure on the 23rd was at home after resting in bed or in her recliner chair all day.  Each of these seizures had very different symptoms, both leading up to the seizure and during the seizure itself.

We have started keeping track and logging symptoms, and timing of everything.  We believe that her being a young adolescent is most likely the predominant factor.  Hormones outta whack = no fun, especially when you are already at risk of seizures!  We also have started talking to her doctors regarding where to go from here.  Hope has been referred to two new doctors. . . but still waiting on appointment dates to be set up.  I have some more information to share in regard to recent doctor visits, but I will leave the rest for another post!  Until then, thank you so much for continuing to keep Hope in your prayers, dear ones!!!

Again, we wish every one a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!  Our hope and prayer for each of you is that you would know and cherish the One who we celebrate, especially at this time of year . . . Jesus Christ!  May the Lord bless you in this coming year . . . Happy New Year!  You are dearly loved!!!
